Activities for young people at the farm
All of the Farm's youth activities are informed by our Youth Committee who make decisions about the Farm's engagement work with young people in Southwark. Farm Club welcomes those aged 8 to 13 years old to get involved in feeding, grooming and mucking out our friendly farm animals; plus arts and crafts, gardening and nature activities such as pond dipping and Forest School. Farm Club takes place during the Easter Holidays, Summer Holidays and February and October half terms. Book a place at Farm Club.
We also run Youth Clubs for children aged 4 to 18 including:
- Forest School for 4 to 7s
- Forest School for 7 to 11s
- Young Farmers Club
- and Greenagers 14 to 18s youth-led activities and social action projects
Surrey Docks Farm is a working city farm in the heart of London occupying a beautiful 2.2 acre site on the south bank of the river Thames in Rotherhithe.
The Farm works with local communities and the people of Southwark to provide many unique opportunities for people to learn about farming, food production, and be actively involved in the ongoing working life of the farm.
Animals reared on the Farm include a herd of goats, sheep, cows, pigs, ducks, geese, chickens, donkeys and a pony.
There are a variety of green and horticultural attractions at Surrey Docks Farm. We have an orchard, herb garden, dye garden, vegetable plots, and the wildlife area.
